Defending amateur champions are Hank Ascento and Kim Marshall who are both expected in this year's field.

Bermuda Golf Association secretary Tom Smith noted yesterday that entries would not be accepted by telephone. An entry form complete with fee ($180 for men, $140 for ladies) must be returned to the BGA by Friday.

Meanwhile, this weekend sees the start of the popular Amstel League with the A division players competing at Ocean View and the B division at Belmont.
