Ogle completes Shoot-out field
next month's Merrill Lynch Shoot-out at Mid Ocean Club.
The lanky Australian, who placed third last year, accepted a late invitation for the September 26 final following the decision by two-time champion Davis Love not to return.
Ogle, who delighted crowds last year with his less-than-serious approach -- he pinched a policeman's helmet while joking with fellow pro Peter Jacobsen and the gallery on the first tee -- is the seventh and final sponsors' choice for the half million dollar event.
Also accepting invitations were defending champion Corey Pavin, Ben Crenshaw, Craig Stadler, Payne Stewart, Curtis Strange and Jacobsen.
The three qualifiers from the year-long Shoot-out series were Scott Hoch, Woody Austin and Kenny Perry, although the latter two have still to confirm that they will compete in the final.
Of the 10 PGA Tour pros, Pavin, Crenshaw, Stadler, Jacobsen, Ogle and Hoch all played at Mid Ocean last September, and were all keen to return.
Pavin and Jacobsen have won twice on tour this year and Crenshaw, Stewart, Austin, Perry and Hoch all once. All 10 players are included in the Tour's top 50 money-winners' list.
