Regardless first across the line in ocean race

10th Biennial Daytona-Bermuda Yacht Race being hosted by the St. George's Dinghy & Sports Club and Halifax River Yacht Club of Florida.

The boat finished on Saturday with an elapsed time of seven days, six minutes, 28 seconds.

Second across the line at the East End was Salsa in a time of 7:05.01.40 also in class A, while yet another class A boat Pipedream was third.

In all 15 boats have so far completed the 850 nautical mile trek, with the three remaining entrants expected within the next day.

The Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club proved unforgiving hosts on Sunday when they left guests wanting by sweeping both races during Fitted Dinghy racing action.

The first race witnessed Port Royal II claim her first victory of the new season, taking the BAA Cup ahead of Contest II , representing the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, with Somerset's Echo third.

And while Port Royal faltered the next time out, stable-mate Elizabeth II was there to take up the slack, earning her second win in five outings in capturing the Whitney Cup.

Again placing second was the ever steady Contest , with Echo trailing third yet again.

Defending Coronation Cup champions Contest thus remained on course in their quest for a repeat, although there remains little room for complacency at the top.

Contest moved their season points total to 231 compared to 221 for Elizabeth and Echo's 21.

The next Fitted Dinghy race day is Sunday, June 18, when the fleet will take part in a match racing series in Mangrove Bay.

The following day, on Monday, June 19, also in Mangrove Bay, the boats will contest two races for the Gilbert Bowl and the Cambridge Bowl.
