Lenny spares Dodwell's hotel
Lenny swept through the Caribbean last week.
Mr. Dodwell's Nesbet Plantation resort on the Island of Nevis suffered only some minor problems in its grounds as the storm caused widespread chaos on the rest of the north eastern Caribbean.
He said the only difficulties now were due to the pounding the island's infrastructure took. Electricity, water and telephones have all been affected.
"We are on the north side of the island,'' Mr. Dodwell said. "We had some tree debris, but no structural damage. But the entire west coast is gone. We were extremely lucky.'' St. Maarten, Anguilla and both the British and US Virgin Islands were badly hit, he said.
And he added that the storm came as the region was gearing up for the busy winter season, leaving many hotels with no option but to close whilst repairs are made.
In addition, the supply boats which brought goods to Nevis were sunk in the storm.
