Premier goes back to school
through the land of literacy, numeracy and technology.
Ms Smith and Education Permanent Secretary Michelle Khaldun were invited to Elliot Primary School by pupils in Primary one, two and three, who asked that they each arrive with a small suitcase.
When they got to the school in Devonshire they both received passports, which were stamped by their flight attendant pupils as they arrived at each destination.
Ms Khaldun said: "The Premier and I enjoyed our visit to Elliot this morning and would like to thank the staff and students for their creative approach.
"This was a good example of students enjoying learning in these important areas.
"We particularly enjoyed the students' reading and presentations and were very impressed with their reading skills.
The Permanent Secretary added: "Literacy, numeracy and technology remain the Government's priority and we were delighted to see schools effectively using the Literacy Place and Math Advantage programmes, as well as the additional computers in their classrooms.''
