Telco has installed public pay fax machines at locations around the Island for the convenience of the those who cannot afford to buy their own. And they are all now in use.

"We felt there was a need in the community for the service,'' Telco general manager Mr. Ernest Pacheco said yesterday.

"The company, just as it did many years ago when it installed public telephones kiosks to serve those who did not have telephones, has now installed this new type of service for those persons who do not wish the expense of a fax machines but who do at times have the need for one.'' The first public pay fax was installed at the main Post Office in the latter part of 1992 and was well-received, Mr. Pacheco said.

The other locations include: Telco's headquarters on Victoria Street, Cable and Wireless on Church Street, Number One and Number Six passenger terminals on Front Street, the Civil Air Terminal departure area, the Visitor Service Bureaus in Hamilton and St. George's and the Clocktower Building in Dockyard.

Documents can be sent using Mastercard, Visa or American Express cards only.

A NEW WAY TO REACH OUT -- Mr. Garry Armstrong uses the just-installed public pay fax machine at Number One Shed in Hamilton. The Bermuda Telephone Company has installed the machines at several locations around the Island for those who can not afford to buy their own.
