`Bees' completes comfortable win
in convincing fashion yesterday, stretching his overnight lead from six to 14 shots with a second successive round of 73 at Belmont.
Competing in his first Seniors event, having only recently turned 55, Ingham carded a three-day total of 223 with rounds of 77-73-73.
He was the only player to shoot in the 70s every day and led from start to finish.
Conrad Henry, with a round of 79 yesterday, and Sam Murray, who finished with a round of 77, shared second place on on 237. Eldon Raynor and Noel Van Putten tied for fourth place on 239.
Sixteen handicapper Junior DeMoura completed an outstanding week with a round of 79 to take net honours with a total of 197 -- a whopping 15 shots ahead of his nearest rival, Fred Wheatley (212). In the over 65 division, Jack Wahl returned the best net score of 225, while in the 55-64 division, Sam Murray won with a net total of 213.
The daily gross winners were Peter Tucker (78, Wednesday), Eldon Raynor (76, Thursday) and Noel Van Putten (76, Friday).
