Kim helps Forest to best-ever NCAA finish
in the NCAA Women's Golf Championships when they completed the 72-hole tournament in third place on Saturday.
Starting the final day in fourth spot, they leapfrogged over Stanford with the third best team score of the day -- 299 -- failing by four shots to catch second-placed San Jose State.
As expected, Arizona State who had led from the opening round, wrapped up victory, eventually finishing a whopping 26 shots in front.
Bermudian teenager Marshall carded a final round of six-over par 78 on the Dye course in Wilmington, North Carolina, leaving her with a final total of 306 after earlier rounds of 78, 75 and 75.
Individually she placed in a tie for 43rd place.
Leading Wake Forest's charge was Lauro Philo who tied for sixth overall after rounds of 69, 71, 79, and 72 for a 291 total.
Alexandra Armas was right behind in a tie for ninth place with rounds of 73-71-72-77 (293) while Stephanie Neill tied for 21st with scores of 73-74-76-75 (298).
Top individual was K. Mourgue d'Algue of Arizona State who compiled a 283 total with rounds of 72-67-74-70.
Wake Forest's previous best finish in the NCAAs was two years ago when they placed seventh. Last year they finished eighth.
