Frigerio back with a bang
this week for the Coral Beach Invitational tennis tournament.
And it looked as though he was never away as the top seed cruised past Mike Curry 6-2, 6-2 in the men's open final on Saturday.
Frigerio, apparently fully recovered from a back injury that forced him to sit out the All Bermuda Tennis Club's Open last month, breezed through the competition without meeting the Island's number one-ranked player, Mike Way.
Way, who won the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association Invitiational a week earlier, hasn't played Frigerio since the spring.
In the ladies open final, Elvira Hales, a recent arrival on the Island from England, defeated Gill Finnegan 6-1, 7-5.
Frigerio and Hales also picked up doubles victories. The former teamed with Alex Anderson for a 7-5, 6-4 win over Stuart Smith and Courtland Boyle while the latter joined Finnegan for a 6-2, 7-5 triumph over Joan Hassell and Gill Butterfield.
