Ashleigh Simons recently graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
Ms Simons, the daughter of John and Bridgitte Simons, received her degree at Commencement ceremonies on May 8.
Attending her graduation ceremony were her parents, sister and niece, Tanisha and Sienna Woolridge, brother, Denzel Simons, godfather and uncle Vagunel (Butch) Smith, close family friends, Jerome, Jordan and Dee Stovell, her best friend and fellow graduate Kalena Astwood and her family, fellow friends within the graduating class of 2010, former UT graduates, AKA sorority sisters and many other friends from Bermuda, the US and the Caribbean.
Ms Simons received guidance from mentors Crystal Clay, Nikeisha Eve Pitcher, Patrick Tannock and from her godparents Vagunel (Butch) Smith and Dee Nelson-Stovell.
While a student, she worked at the ACE Group of Companies during her Summer and Christmas vacations and she also received scholarships from the University of Tampa, The Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC) and the ACE Foundation.
Three Bermudians have been inducted into the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa International Honour Society at the New England Institute of Technology.
NEIT Provost Dr. Thomas F. Wylie said Shantaye Wolffe, Sherika Parfitt and Angelika Wilson of Bermuda were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa International Honour Society along with 31 other students.
In order to be members of the New England Tech Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (known as Beta Xi Phi), students must complete at least 24 quarter hours of coursework leading to an Associate degree and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.80 out of a possible 4.0 GPA.
