For the second consecutive week, Forgesson ran solo to take a comfortable victory in yesterday's Lindo's five miler -- a week after claiming honours in the Sandys Five Flat Miles.

And again the much improved Andrew Doble followed home in second place.

But there was no Kavin Smith in the field, nor Tracy Wright, Jamal Hart, Mike Watson or Jay Donawa, all of whom would have challenged Forgesson for first place.

As it was, on a cool, wet morning, on one of Bermuda's most demanding road race courses, Forgesson romped home in 27 minutes and one second, followed by Doble in 27.53.

Promising teenager Calvert Lee took junior honours and third place overall with an impressive 28.36 clocking. Steve Donnelly (28.42) and Neil De Ste.

Croix (28.45) rounded out the top five.

Harry Patchett in sixth (28.59) was again the leading master (over 40) and Peter Lever (32.33) the top veteran (over 50).

Among the women, Karen Adams, like Forgesson, repeated her success of a week ago, winning comfortably in 30.48. Julia Hawley was second in 32:11 and Jane Christie, the first master, third overall in 33.12.

Samantha McGlone led home the junior females in 34.26 while Peggy Couper claimed the veterans' title in 36.43.

Next Sunday sees the road race programme continue with the Evian 10 mile race following its traditional route from the Botanical Gardens out along South Shore Road to Mid Ocean Club and back.
