Champ Huber bounced by Marshall
Ocean Club Men's Invitation golf tournament after defending champion Thomas Huber was unceremoniously bounced from the event.
Following an easy five and four victory in the first round against Lee Paton, the German's fortune took a turn for the worse, as Bermuda's Blake Marshall proved his ultimate nemesis in rolling to a four and two triumph during yesterday's quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, second seed and 1992 finalist Paul Evans of Massachusetts continued in a rich vein, easily disposing of another Bermudian, Michael Dunkley, five and four.
Other notables advancing included 1992 champion Ricky Cox, who defeated Steve Duxbury one-up. Cox will face the high-riding Marshall today in the third round.
Meanwhile, 1991 losing finalist and former Bermuda amateur champion Doug Clark likewise rolled through yet another opponent, his latest victim being Terrett West, a four and three loser.
In a senior match-up, Charles Hartnett defeated Bermuda's Ross McPhee by a comfortable five and three margin.
