Braithwaite return boosts Bay
Jermaine Outerbridge smashed 85 not out with 11 boundaries and Anthony Braithwaite claimed three for 16 in his first match back after a long absence to lead Bailey's Bay to a comfortable 179 run win over 10-men Flatts at Sea Breeze Oval.
Outerbridge, batting at number six, led the Bay batting with his brisk knock which included six fours and five sixes after Bay were given a good start by Glenn Smith and Charlie Marshall.
Opener Ricky Hill was forced to retire after being twice struck on the hand, first by Kevin Hurdle in the first over and then by Troy Bean the following over. Glenn Smith came in to replace him as he and Devrae Hollis put on 57 for the first wicket.
Smith was second out, having scored 47 of the first 72 runs from two sixes and seven fours. Maxwell Lawrence also took the wicket of Noel Gibbons, bowled for 19, as Bay were placed at 101 for three.
Marshall hit 38 from three sixes and two fours before he was fourth out when the score was 143, leaving Outerbridge and Clarkie Trott to take Bay past the 200 mark with a sixth wicket stand of 51.
Hill came back at the fall of Trott for 16 and was the next out.
Lawrence was the top bowler for Flatts with three for 35 from 10 overs and he was only one of two batsmen in double figures with 13.
Flatts were in early trouble at 16 for four, leaving Rodney Woolridge to try to stem the tide with a top knock of 27 as he and Jon Carey added 30 for the fifth wicket.
Braithwaite claimed three for 16 from 7.4 overs while Terry Burgess took two for 20 and Trott two for 12.
