Bromby faces uphill battle

in severe jeopardy after five races at the Nautica Star Class World Championship regatta in Annapolis, Maryland.

The Bermudian pair who stood 10th after the first two races plummeted all the way down to 22nd in the 112-member fleet, but more importantly stand eighth in the chase for six available spots for countries not having already qualified for the Games.

Norway's Halvior Schoyen and Tharaldsen Asmund, along with the team of Leonidas Pelekanakis and Diuistris Boukis from Greece stand in the way of the Bermudians, who require a supreme effort during today's final race.

Bromby and White have so far achieved placings of ninth, 20th, 26th, 49th and yesterday's 42nd place finish.

Leading the regatta are the US tandem of Mark Reynolds and Magnus Liljedahl, with Ross MacDonald and Kai Bjorn of Canada second.

GOATER IN THE SPOTLIGHT SOC Goater in the spotlight Local soccer fans will be afforded the opportunity to see Bermudian professional Shaun Goater in full flight, leading Manchester City's promotion to the Premier Division.

Bermuda Broadcasting Company will air a 60 minute highlight package of the Manchester City versus Blackburn match on Monday night, starting at 7.30 p.m.

on ZFB.

However, soccer fans will be disappointed to learn that the company will not show tomorrow's English FA Cup final due to low sponsorship response.
