Lawyer to head panel at Davos
Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland.
She caught the eye of delegates after speaking from the floor at this year's Forum, and was then asked to organise and take part in a panel discussion next year.
The session she attended focused on the contributions women have made in business in countries around the world.
"During the open discussion that followed presentations by the panelists, I had an opportunity to share with the audience the experiences of women in business and politics in Bermuda,'' said Ms Milligan-Whyte, a former Government Senator.
"I also took the opportunity to discuss Bermuda's economic structure, the fact that we continue to have a balanced budget and Bermuda's focus on education...'' Delegates told the session's coordinator they were keen for more information abut Bermuda as a result of Ms Milligan-Whyte's comments.
As a result, she was asked to organise and participate in a panel at next year's forum, and suggested the panel discuss "Creative Corporate Strategies for the Year 2,000''.
"Corporate executives from Canada and the US have agreed to join me on the panel next year. They will discuss specific case studies involving creative management techniques in their respective companies,'' she said.
