LEAK PLUGGED FIR Leak plugged Ten firefighters rushed to a report of a gas explosion at a Pembroke residence this week.
When they arrived at the house on Tulo Valley, at 4.45 p.m. on Wednesday, they found there was not an explosion, but the loud noise was due to the fact that gas was leaking from the base of a deteriorating gas cylinder.
The home's resident told firefighters he had smelled an odour for a week. But he thought it was a dead rat around the yard.
