KFC's tasty offering
Consumer products proved to be the flavour of the day on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday, with Kentucky Fried Chicken leading the way.
The fast food company saw its share price soar 45 cents (6.4 percent) to close up at $7.45, with 2,500 shares being traded.
Butterfield Bank, meanwhile, went into reverse, dropping 10 cents (0.5 percent) to finish on $18.20, as 2,599 shares changed hands throughout the day.
Other companies to experience share trading included Mediahouse Ltd. (1,165) and KeyTech Ltd. (100), but both saw their share values hold up at $7 and $15 respectively.
Overall, the Index closed down 15.49 points (0.31 percent) at 4,933.52, with 6,364 shares worth $75,657.80 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index inched up 1.77 points to close at 1,231.26.
