A motorbike rider is battling for his life after his cycle got stuck under the wheels of a heavy truck yesterday morning.

It appears the rider was attempting to manoeuvre around a bus when the collision occurred at the junction of North Shore Road and Jennings Road in Smith's at around 9.40 a.m.

The 20-year-old rider, from Hamilton Parish, was rushed to hospital after suffering serious head injuries and lacerations to his right arm. Last night he was in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
