Bermuda Cricket Board president Reginald Pearman was called in at short notice to speak to Premier Dr. Ewart Brown and the Cabinet yesterday, in the wake of the senior team's heavy Stanford 20/20 defeat.
Premier Brown, in a statement, said Cabinet remained "highly interested" in the development of the country's cricket program, adding: "The Government believes the development of sports is a nationally important endeavour - especially for young people - and we want to ensure that the BCB is as focused on that goal as we are. We take the investment of taxpayer dollars very seriously."
