Right boot is becoming my secret weapon

Well, I think I've proven to everyone that I do indeed have a right foot after my winning goal against FC Dallas!

New England Revolution's coach Steve Nicol is always telling me to go past defenders on the outside but if they keep showing me onto my right foot then I'm not afraid to use it - it's becoming my secret weapon.

I think my goal against Dallas has become my bargaining chip with Stevie (Nicol) and he can't deny my right foot now!

It was an important victory for us because Dallas wesre still undefeated and so it's good to knock them off their perch. It's put us back in a good position in the league and sets us up nicely for our match against Chicago Fire on Saturday.

We owe them one after they inflicted a heavy 4-0 defeat upon us in our second game of the season. They have some very talented players and Blanco is the main man for them.

But when the Revs are firing on all cylinders we don't have to worry about anyone and we're confident of claiming a successive victory.

It's been a pretty good week for Bermuda's footballers, with me scoring, and the Hogges beating Wilmington Hammerheads. That's a massive victory for them especially considering they were coming off the back of a 6-0 defeat against Charlotte Eagles.

Regardless of the league you play in, it's always important to get a first victory under your belts and this takes a bit of pressure off them now. Mingy (Damon Ming) text my Blackberry after the game and I know all the boys were delighted.

Although it's still early days I honestly believe the Hogges could challenge for a play-off place this season - they've a lot of quality in their squad.

Most of the Hogges players are now in England training with the national team at Fulham's training ground. I couldn't make it because the Revs wouldn't release me before our match against Fire.

Some of the players have asked me to have a word with Fulham's Clint Dempsey, who I played with for two seasons at the Revs, to try and get a few shirts for them. I'll see what I can do.

I haven't had a chance to speak to the players since they arrived in the UK but I imagine they will not have experienced training facilities like Fulham's before. They are a Premiership club so it will be a real first class set up. I wish them all the best for today's match against Chelsea reserves. It should be a great experience for them and you never know, Chelsea may field one or two big name players.

Thankfully my team, Manchester United, did enough to get past Barcelona on Wednesday night to reach the final of the Champions League. I really fancy us this year and I hope we make it a famous double by lifting the Premiership title as well.

See you at the corner flag!
