Are you an aspiring model? Do you think you have what it takes to be the face of local retailers?

Is you answered yes to any of those questions, the JaKoMa NEX School is the perfect solution for you.

JaKoMa Modelling Agency will premier their newest endeavour, a modelling school, on September 29. The school is open to females ages six and up and will feature two categories, juniors, ages six to 15 and teens to adults, ages 16 and up.

Public Relations and Promotions Manager Cha'Von Clarke explained the school is for females who are looking for a fun extra-curricular activity.

The school will run over the course of four months with three weekly lessons with potential models learning everything from runway, print, etiquette, acting and much more.

Ms Clarke said the school is unlike anything on the Island and students will learn how to be a model in the local and international circuits.

Potential models will have the opportunity to be exposed to photo shoots, fashion shows, live recording studios, video commercial recordings, interviews, public speaking development and hosting.

JaKoMa NEX School is somewhat of a boot camp, according to Ms Clarke, but will be a fun, learning experience. The weekly lessons will develop students for stage and studio performances in the fashion and music industry.

She said the school's main purpose is "to increase the numbers of talented persons on the Island eligible for contracted work".

In addition to the all the information they will learn, there will be guest speakers to teach them about make-up, hair, fashion concept and photography. The students' will learn self-development, confidence, awareness, industry discipline, creativity and positive thinking.

One thing students should remember is they are not automatically enrolled in the agency or contracted for work. They will be assessed by JaKoMa management in order to qualify for agency representation.

At the end of the course, students will participate in the annual JaKoMa fashion show and receive a picture portfolio, commercial DVD, hosting DVD and fashion show DVD.

Ms Clarke said the school is open to any female over the age of six regardless of weight, height or race. Anyone interested in modelling should enrol and learn all they can.

The classes are Monday, Thursday and Saturday for juniors and Monday, Thursday and Sunday for teens and adults. All classes will be held at the JakoMa Suite on the corner of Cedar Avenue and Victoria Street.

Classes are $75 a week or a lump sum of $1,000 for the entire course. They begin on Saturday, September 29. Registration will take place this Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the suite.
