Bermudian trio make London Run For Freedom
Across the Atlantic yesterday, three young people were flying the flag for Bermuda in London's Run For Freedom.
Kim Caines, Alexandra Edwards and Josue Paulos, currently resident in the UK, took part in a run in the Square Mile — a bit further than the Front Street Mile but not far enough to put them off.
Law student Kim, chairman of the United Bermuda Party's youth group, spoke to The Royal Gazette over the phone after completing the run.
She said she had been talked into taking part after bumping into organisers Charlotte Wilberforce and Gavin Smith in Cafe Ten while she was home for an Easter break.
"I had heard about it, and it's for a good cause, so I decided to take part," said Kim.
"I had no problem getting up this morning and participating. There was such a camaraderie. We had our Bermuda flag, and we knew they were doing it in Bermuda on the same day, so we definitely wanted to join in."
