Kenya claim World Cricket League crown
Scotland 155
Kenya 158-2
Scotland, who lost their last group game to Bermuda by five wickets, won the toss and elected to bat — but their innings foundered after they reached 59 runs for the loss of one wicket, plunging to 66 runs for six.
Their lower-order batsmen battled hard to move the total to 155 all out in 47 overs as five of the six bowlers used by Kenya took at least one wicket.
Fraser Watts and Ryan Watson added 52 runs for the Scottish second wicket after the early dismissal of Majid Haq. Captain Craig Wright attempted to steer his side to recovery but he was out with the score on 108 for eight. Ross Lyons and Paul Hoffman hit some defiant blows at the end to push the score along.
Kenya began slowly, but openers Maurice Ouma and David Obuya then carried the score to 48 without loss before Ouma was run out for 23.
Obuya began to blossom in a second wicket stand with Ravi Shah and the pair looked set to take Kenya to victory until Obuya drove a ball to mid-wicket off slow-bowler Ross Lyons and was caught with total on 145.
Kenya captain Steve Tikolo then strode to the wicket to take his side to victory.
