Making a difference November 7, 2006Dear Sir,My name is Katie Wilton and I recently participated in the 4th annual Bermuda Gourmet Getaway. I was in charge of organising the Kids Village. I co-ordinated with Total Marketing & Communications and they said that they would help get volunteers to help run the Kids Village.

They tapped into a group called YouthNet and these were the best group of volunteers I have ever worked with! This YouthNet, made up of men and women of various ages, are mentors to local school children. I was so impressed with how they interacted with the children at the event. They were warm, friendly, and encouraging.

I commend your community for having such a talented group of volunteers who are truly making a difference in the lives of the children in Bermuda.

Cook with Confidence!

Middleton, Massachusetts <$>Wild chicken problem November 6, 2006Dear Sir,As frequent and regular visitors to Bermuda over the past twenty years, we did not realise that our beloved island had become a third-world country until we arrived last week to find it taken over by flocks of wild chickens.

Our group of cottages had a resident flock of at least fifteen, of which four or five are roosters, who fought, screamed, crowed, pooped on sidewalks and patios, and made themselves thoroughly obnoxious from three a.m. onward. Sleep? forget it! The cockophony was unbelievable.

It’s time to round them up and dispose of them.
