Driver questioned over accident

A man has been detained by Police on suspicion of impaired driving after his car was extensively damaged when it collided with a wooden guard rail on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Rose Hill Road.

The 24-year-old Southampton man appears to have lost control at a bend in the road as he was travelling east around 3.15 a.m. on Saturday, according to Bermuda Police Service.

The man sustained a minor cut to the right side of his face and was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

When he was released from hospital he was taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained on suspicion of impaired driving. Further inquiries into the incident are underway.
