Terminal 5 set to open
Globetrotting Bermudians will be able to take advantage of the facilities at British Airways' (BA) new $8 billion home at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5.
BA's new base, which will officially open on Thursday, will be used by many local residents en route to destinations across the world.
The building, which was designed by legendary British architect, Sir Richard Rogers, is the size of 50 soccer pitches, with floor to ceiling windows giving panoramic views of runways, countryside and even Windsor Castle and Wembley Stadium.
It is planned that passengers will be able to check-in, drop off their bags and be through security in 10 minutes in a simple and stress-free experience.
Underneath the main plaza, a railway station houses six platforms for the Heathrow Express and London's Underground.
There will also be several famous brand name shops such as Tiffany, Prada and Harrods on offer, while Gordon Ramsey will serve Michelin quality meals in his aptly-named Plane Food Restaurant.
