Driving at 95kph landed a 19-year-old in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Malachi Brown, of South Road, Devonshire pleaded guilty to driving at 95 kph and not having a driver's licence on January 24 this year.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner asked Brown if he had a reason he shouldn't be disqualified for driving at that speed.

Brown said: "At that time I was coming down with the flu and needed to get home. I need the bike for my job."

Mr. Warner fined Brown $1,000 and disqualified him from all vehicles for 36 months.
