Kenya vs Bermuda: Rain washes out third day
The third day of play in Bermuda's Intercontinental Cup clash between Kenya and Bermuda at Nairobi's Gymkhana ground has been washed out.
Players arrived at the club on the city's outskirts for play on the third day of the four-day match to find an outfield drenched by heavy overnight showers.
Umpires Tony Hill from New Zealand and Buddhi Pradhan from Nepal were scheduled to make a pitch inspection at 11 a.m. local time (4 a.m. Bermuda time).
But Hill told The Royal Gazette: "I can't see play starting until after lunch at the earliest. There's a lot of water on the outfield, it's very messy."
By 10 a.m. the rain had stopped but dark clouds overs the city were threatening
more rain.
The umpires later called play off.
Bermuda were scheduled to resume their second innings at 19 for two with opener Kwame Tucker unbeaten on three and David Hemp yet to score.
Bermuda still require 53 runs to wipe out a first innings deficit.
Kenya replied to Bermuda's first innings of 133 with 205, the visitors' Saleem Mukuddem claiming career-best figures of six for 50.
