Winner update

Although protests are pending and results are provisional, Sinn Fein a Cal 40 owned by Peter Rebovich of Metchun NJ and Lively Lady II a Carter 37 owned by William Hubbard III, New York NY have clearly won the amateur St David's Lighthouse Division of the Centennial Bermuda Race: Newport Bermuda 2006. Sinn Fein won the ORR section and Lively Lady II took the IRC section. Both will be awarded silver replicas of the St David's Lighthouse, the finishing landmark for the race.

Cruiser Division:Synergy, a Frers 49 (once an Admiral's Cup boat) owned by Eleonora de Haas of St. Maarten, won the Cruiser Division (ORR only) and will receive the new Carleton Mitchell Finisterre Trophy. This is the first division winner ever skippered by a woman and the first all-women team to take the top prize in any division.

Double-Handed Division In the Double-Handed Division, Aggressive, a C & C 35-2 sailed by Raymond Renaud of Warren RI and Kristen Wenzel of Saunderstown RI won both the ORR and IRC sections. Renaud will be awarded the Philip Weld Prize.

Demonstration Division: Joe Harris of Hamilton, MA won the Demonstration Division in both ORR and IRC in his Open 50 Gryphon Solo. Harris wins the Royal Mail Trophy.

Gibbs Hill Division: As reported earlier, Temptres owned by Richard Shulman of Barringto nRI won the ORR section of the 22-boat professional Gibbs Hill Lighthouse Division. Four Stars< owned by Timothy McAdams of Brewster MA took the IRC section. Both will be awarded silver replicas of Bermuda's Gibbs Hill Lighthouse.
