Pre-race favourites Riaan Naude and Dee McMullen claimed comfortable overall victories in yesterday's Shell Gold Cup triathlon at Clearwater Beach.
Naude completed the 750 metre swim, 20 kilometre bike and five kilometre run in one hour, three minutes and 17 seconds, more than two minutes faster than Norbert Meyer in second.
In the ladies' event, McMullen won by just under three minutes over Karen Bordage and her sister Kim, finishing in 1:09.48.
