Shocking attack

The shocking daylight stabbing of a visitor on Front Street should be a wake-up call for the whole community.

While some will say that a crime is a crime and it does not matter if it happens to a resident or a local on Front Street or Court Street, the fact is that it does matter.

While the whole community should be sympathetic to all victims of crime, this attack has the potential to do critical damage to tourism, which in turn affects the livelihoods of thousands of Bermudians.

It is essential that the Government does everything possible to make this up to Scott Jable and his family.

While the Premier is to be applauded for making a statement to the community on the attack within hours of it happening, Government should be rolling out the red carpet, including covering all of their expenses for this trip and offering to bring them back to the Island at the Country's expense for a first class vacation.
