Boy injured in collision
A six-year old boy was injured in a car accident at the weekend when the car he was travelling in collided with a van.
Police reported yesterday that the driver of the car the boy was travelling in, a 35-year old Pembroke man, was later arrested for impaired driving.
Police were called to South Shore Road near the junction of Devonshire Bay Road at around 7.15 p.m. on Saturday, a spokesman said.
There it appeared a white Daewoo van was travllling west on South Road when it collided with the white Nissan Sentra traveling in the opposite direction. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
The driver of the van, a 47-year old Hamilton parish man, received lacerations above the right eye and the driver of the car sustained a fractured collar bone and injury to chest. The six year old received lacerations to the tongue. None of the injuries are believe to be life-threatening.
The Royal Gazette understands the road was blocked until after 10 p.m. that night.
