Despite the recent inclement weather the Bermuda Electric Light Company is preparing for spring.

Yesterday the energy supplier launched its annual four week Kite Safety Campaign which educates primary school kicks on the dangers of flying kites too close to power lines.

BELCO representatives will visit 24 primary schools in all to show a safety video, answer questions and promote a poster making contest.

By Good Friday they hope to see 1,500 students in Primary One and Primary Two.

The poster contest awards prizes to two students who come up with the Best Safety Message and Most Beautiful displays.

A $500 check will go to each winning student's school.
