Police appeal for witnesses to shooting incident

Police are appealing for witnesses to a firearms incident that took place in the Ord Road and Cobbs Hill area of Warwick in the early hours of Monday morning to come forward.

Anyone who may have been travelling along the Ord Road junction with Cobbs Hill between midnight and 1am are asked to contact them.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said: “Detectives are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen two persons dressed in all black acting in a suspicious manner, headed east on a motorcycle, turn around at the junction with Ord Road and Cobbs Hill and proceed in a westerly direction, shortly before residents of Ord Road and Cobbs Hill reported hearing gunshots around 12.18am on the said date.”

Police officers received reports of gunshots from area residents. The officers conducted searches and recovered forensic evidence to confirm a firearm had been discharged.

Anyone with information regarding the two people or the confirmed firearms incident is asked to call 211, the main police number 295-0011 or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477.
