An 18-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital early yesterday after a serious single vehicle collision.

The Bermuda Police Service said the man was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with leg and facial injuries, but they are not considered to be life threatening.

A BPS spokesman said: “At 1.18am, police received a number of calls reporting a serious, single vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle, at the junction of Cox’s Hill and St John’s Road roundabout, Pembroke.

“It appears the motorcyclist, an 18-year-old male, was headed east along Cox’s Hill, when he lost control of the vehicle and slid out.

“He was found in an unresponsive state, with leg and facial injuries.

“He was attended to at the scene by EMTs and was subsequently taken by ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment to his injuries, which were not considered life threatening.

“Traffic was diverted away from the scene while it was being processed by traffic collision investigators as well as forensics officer.”
