Spider-Man 3 holds on to top spot
SLIPPING Spider-Man 3 remained the top film in US and Canadian theatres this weekend, taking in $60 million after setting a world-wide box-office record in its debut.Sales for the Sony Corporation film fell by 60 per cent from $151.1 million last weekend, Media By Numbers LLC said today in a statement. Among new films, News Corporation's zombie sequel 28 Weeks Later>was second with $10 million.
Spider-Man I>benefited from a second weekend without another major film competing for moviegoers' attention.
"The fans are not loving this one the way they loved the first two," said Gitesh Pandya, editor of box-office-tracker Boxofficeguru.com. "Because of all the fan anticipation, everyone came out that first weekend, and so now it's bound to drop hard."
Spider-Manhad worldwide sales last weekend of $382 million, shattering the previous mark of $253 million set in 2005 by Star Wars: Episode 3 — Revenge of the h.
Overseas Excitement
In the latest Spidern instalment, the wise-cracking superhero played by Tobey Maguire battles his own dark side, as well as new villains played by Topher Grace and Thomas Haden Church. Kirsten Dunst returns as Mary Jane Watson, girlfriend of Peter Parker, Spider-'s alter-ego.

The long-running CBS game isn't immune to the general malaise affecting network TV this spring, as only 13.6 million people watched Sunday as California advertising executive Earl Cole unanimously won the Fiji edition, according to Nielsen Media Research.
That's off 17 per cent from the 16.4 million people who watched the end of the previous edition in December. Last spring's finale had 17.1 million viewers, Nielsen said.

The veteran CBS comedy ng of Queens went out with a small wave of nostalgia, however. It was the most-watched sitcom on the air last week, and the 13.5 million who watched this Monday's finale was its biggest audience since 2003.
ABCWorld News won the evening-news ratings race, averaging 7.9 million viewers. NBC'I>Nightly News had 7.2 million viewers and the <BS Evening News had 6.1 million.
McFly soar to top of UK pop charts
BOY band McFly secured their seventh British number one on Sunday with <aby's Coming Back, knocking Beyoncé and Shakira off the top spot.

American band Linkin k's What I've Done rose to number s while Give It To Me, a collaboration by Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, dropped to seven.
Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers' Youove Alone Is Not Enough fell to eighth and Canadian singer Al Lavigne's Girlfriend slipped to ninth.
Completing the top ten was US R&B singemerie with Take Control.
