Probation breach earns Supreme Court date for homeless man
While in custody for a breach of his bail agreement, a 39-year-old man threatened a Police officer.
Troy Robinson, of no fixed abode, was out on probation after being convicted on March 3 in Supreme Court last year for stealing.
However, Robinson failed to report to his probation officer and was arrested on Monday, April 30 this year for his breach.
On Friday in Magistrates' Court, Robinson also pleaded guilty to uttering threatening words and acting in a threatening manner while in custody for failing to meet with his probation officer.
Crown counsel Graveney Bannister told the court that while Robinson was in custody, he threatened an officer.
He said to the officer: "I know where you live. I know that you drive a blue car. I'm going to f*** you up" and acted in a threatening manner.
The officer became concerned because he had seen the defendant the day before walking past him in the car. Robinson was arrested and cautioned to which he replied: "F*** you.".
In court On Friday, Robinson said: "He came to me and called me Troy. You don't know me so you have to call me by Mr. Robinson. Then he got in my face and was telling me this Island is more his Island than my Island."
Robinson also faced two other charges from separate incidents while in court.
He pleaded not guilty to taking a Red Honda City Express on February 13 this year and to for causing grievous bodily harm to a woman on December 17 last year.
Robinson will be back in Magistrates' Court on July 30 and August 27 to face those charges.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo sentenced Robinson to three months imprisonment for using threatening words and acting in a threatening manner, to be suspended for 12 months.
For breaching his probation set by the Supreme Court last year, Mr. Tokunbo also remanded Robinson in custody for Supreme Court to rule on the breach.
