International carrier TeleBermuda International Ltd. (TBI) has affirmed its commitment to serve Bermuda’s insurance industry by joining the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD).

ACORD facilitates standards’ development and use for the insurance, reinsurance, surety and related financial services industries.

TBI spokesperson, Lee Greene vice-president of sales for Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, said: “We are thrilled to become a new ACORD associate member and a solutions provider in one of the world’s leading insurance jurisdictions”.

A TBI company statement added: “Communication between systems and between partners is more vital than ever before. The ability to rapidly and accurately share, access, and utilise data is crucial with ACORD standards. TBI can provide solutions for the insurance industry in Bermuda that will help improve industry integration and communication by adopting and implementing ACORD standards.”
