Belco shares lost 55 cents on an otherwise quiet day for the Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange which ended 10.11 points (0.2 percent) lower at 5,131.5.

Belco dropped 0.55 percent after 500 shares were traded, settling at a closing price of $23.25.

The only other activity was small trades in bank stocks with 450 shares of Butterfield Bank changing hands without affecting the closing price of $60, and 452 and 226 shares respectively of Bermuda Commercial Bank and its weighted shares being traded without affecting the closing prices of either at $8.85 and $1.55.

Total volume of shares traded was 1,628, representing a value of $42,975.50.
