ON THE ARTS SCENE
Figure drawing course at Kaleidoscope
Emma Ingham-Dounouk will conduct a six-week course entitled ‘The Figure: drawing from life’ sponsored by the Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation at its 27 Jubilee Road, Devonshire premises.
Classes are divided into Adults Beginner, Adults Intermediate, and Adults Advanced, and each session will be for two and one half hours. Students must be 16 years or older to participate.
Sessions, both in the studio and on location, will focus on working from the figure, both clothed/draped and nude, the objective of which is to provide the student with an understanding of the principles of drawing. They will be encouraged to use a variety of drawing tools and a range of papers and surfaces.
Adult beginner classes will be held on Friday mornings at 10 a.m. beginning June 1, while adult intermediate will be Monday evenings and adult advanced classes will be on Wednesday evenings began this week.

Michael Walsh opens at BSoA tonight
Bermudian artist and first-time exhibitor Michael Walsh opens an exhibition of his work in the Bermuda Society of Arts’ Onion Gallery this evening. While he is keeping details close to his chest, Mr. Walsh sums up the show, which is entitled ‘The Weight of Being’, as “literally an installation of 20 dents made by 20 bodies”.
“My latest work is a record of (gravity) between us and the earth. The significance of (gravity) existing between us I invite you to create,” he says.
