Former Hamilton Mayor and businessman William de V Frith attended Buckingham Palace earlier this spring for his investiture by HM The Queen as a Member of the British Empire.

Mr. Frith received the honour on May 16. A 28 year Corporation of Hamilton veteran, the mayor was the honourary consular agent for France for more than three decades.

He received the Légion d’honneur France’s highest civilian honour in 1992. Mr. Frith also ran the family’s liquor importing and sales business, Frith’s Liquors.
