Solo-round-the-world sailor in port today
A solo-sailor on an around-the-world voyage is today expected to arrive in Bermuda as she approaches the final leg of her epic journey.
Donna Lange, who has so far sailed more than 30,500 miles on Inspired Insanity, has been advised to wait until daylight before approaching the Island due to stormy conditions.
She has encountered a number of problems over the past few days which have delayed the culmination of her trip, which began in Bristol, Rhode Island on July 29, 2005.
After arriving in Bermuda, Ms Lange will fly to Rhode Island, where she will join friends and family for a celebration which had been pre-arranged to mark what had been expected to be the completion of her voyage.
She will then return to Bermuda so that she can complete the final part of her journey.
