Police announced this afternoon that they have a suspect in custody as their investigation continues into the death of Honnée Smith.

Ms Smith, 29, was discovered at about 11.30am on Thursday on a rocky embankment just off the trails near Warwick Playground.

Her death in hospital was announced the next day, and police said this week that the matter was being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman said today that a male suspect has been arrested.

Investigators renewed their appeal for anyone familiar with Ms Smith and able to assist in tracing her movements from May 5 until she was found unresponsive in Warwick. They can contact Detective Inspector Leroy Mathurin on 717-2040, or by e-mail at lmathurin@bps.bm.

Police particularly wish to speak with residents in the area of the Darrell’s Wharf ferry terminal in Warwick who have CCTV cameras that may have captured images of potential use to the investigation.

Information may also be given anonymously through the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477.
