Students at the Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation have been working to celebrate Bermuda’s history and culture by creating their own Bermuda Day floats.

A spokeswoman for the organisation said: “The Kaleidoscope children have been having an absolute blast designing and building their own Bermuda Day floats for our mini parade, and it’s been a whirlwind of creativity.

“From giant turtles to shimmering fish, sandy beaches to hidden coves, their imaginations have run wild as they explored forms, structures and decorations in the most colourful ways.”

The spokeswoman said that preschool students made their own Gombey-inspired capes while learning about the history of Gombeys.

“In all of Kaleidoscope classes, they incorporate history and culture into their art,” she said.

“Understanding the history of Gombeys is an important part of the artwork and was explored in age appropriate ways.”
