Bermuda bowlers take to lanes in Dominican Republic

Bermuda’s bowlers took to the lanes for the first time at the 2025 Central American Senior Championships on Monday.

With qualification spots for the Central American and Caribbean Games available at the event in Dominican Republic the island’s representatives entered the fray in singles competition.

On the first day of competition, Damien Matthews, David Maycock, Dayvon Tucker, Michael Honore, Jamel Bean and Blake Raynor all took part in the 66-strong field with players split into morning and afternoon sessions.

It was the two players in action in the afternoon who fared best of the Bermuda contingent, with Matthews finishing 26th overall after scoring 1,293 points in his six games. Maycock’s score of 1197 was good enough for him to take 48th place

Tucker finished 55th with a score of 1130 from his six games. Honore occupies 58th position on 1051, with Bean (1010) and Raynor (974) sitting in 60th and 62nd place respectively.

The competition continues with doubles action on Tuesday.
