Man sentenced for intruding on teenager’s privacy
A Smith’s man who touched a teenager’s hair without her permission was given a conditional discharge in Magistrates’ Court.
Appearing in court this week, Leslie Waddell, 64, admitted intruding on the girl’s privacy.
The court heard that Waddell “played with” the teenager’s hair while behind her in February 2024.
The girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was under 18 years old when the offence occurred.
Magistrate Auralee Cassidy sentenced Waddell to an 18-month conditional discharge and warned him to “be very careful” around children.
