The Bermuda Police Service have worked with organisers of Bermuda Pride and the Corporation of Hamilton to ensure safety on Saturday.

Activities organised by OutBermuda will run from noon in Victoria Park before a parade begins at 3pm.

A BPS spokesman said: “The parade and activities will be monitored by our police officers, inclusive of our road policing unit, to ensure the safety of persons attending and working at the event, and to minimise traffic disruption.

“OutBermuda, the organisers of the parade, have obtained the required permission to have this event.

“It is anticipated that there will be a large number of participants and members of the public in attendance.

“We advise members of the public who will be attending the area of the parade during the stated time [that] there will be traffic disruptions and road users are to consider alternative routes while travelling within or into the City.”

The parade will depart from Victoria Park and travel south on Cedar Avenue to Church Street before turning left and heading east to Court Street.

Participants will turn right on to Court Street and proceed south to Front Street, where they will make another right and move west to Queen Street.

There, the parade will turn right and move north to Church Street, where another right turn will be made heading east to Cedar Avenue.

It will turn left on to Cedar Avenue, proceed north and turn on to Dundonald Street, where the parade is expected to end by 4.30pm.

Law firm is rainbow sponsor

The organiser of the Bermuda Pride activities praised a major sponsor for showing “real leadership”.

OutBermuda, an LGBTQ+ charity, applauded law firm Carey Olsen after the company confirmed that it will be a rainbow sponsor for a consecutive year.

Bermuda Pride said: “Back-to-back rainbow sponsorship is a testament to the strong commitment our sponsors make to equity and inclusion.

“We are especially proud to work with Carey Olsen, whose consistent support sends a powerful message of affirmation to Bermuda’s LGBTQ+ community.”

Joshua Samuels, OutBermuda’s executive director, added: “At a time when LGBTQ+ rights are being challenged globally and many Pride organisations are struggling to maintain sponsorship, Carey Olsen’s continued support reflects real leadership.

“Their partnership helps ensure Bermuda Pride remains vibrant, impactful and accessible to all.”

Laura Kearns, an attorney at Carey Olsen, said: “Pride is more than just showing up — it's about standing up.

“It's a commitment to equality, visibility and the celebration of love in all its forms.

“Carey Olsen is proud to continue to support the LGBTQ+ community and OutBermuda in their drive to foster inclusion, amplify voices and effect meaningful change within Bermuda.”

Bermuda Pride events run through Sunday with events including panel discussions and performances.
