Jack Harvey at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore

Jack Harvey has made his debut in the pool at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

Bermuda’s sole representative at the championships in Asia, Harvey finished seventh in heat three of the 100 metres backstroke in 55.40sec on Monday, touching the wall 1.23sec behind heat winner Finn Harland of New Zealand.

The 22-year-old’s time was not good enough to make it through to the semi-finals but he is not done at the event with two further opportunities to display his talents.

Harvey will compete in the 200 metres backstroke on Thursday and the 50 metres backstroke on Saturday.

It is a busy time for Harvey as he is also scheduled to compete at the Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay, with the swim meet set to start on Sunday, August 10.
