Shiona Turini wins Emmy for designing Beyoncé Bowl
A Bermudian stylist has won an Emmy Award for her work on a television performance delivered by music titan Beyoncé.
Shiona Turini won in the category of Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming for designing the Beyoncé Bowl on Netflix.
Ms Turini was nominated alongside her design team, which included assistant costume designers Erica Rice and Molly Peters, as well as Beyoncé Knowles-Carter herself.
The show aired during the 2024 NFL Christmas Day game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans.
It was also released as a stand-alone special on Netflix.
Ms Turini’s work for Beyoncé Bowl was credited back in March in The Hollywood Reporter’s “Top 25 Power Stylists 2025”.
The list put her among the likes of Taylor McNeill, whose clients include Timothée Chalamet, Daniel Craig and Kendrick Lamar, and Samantha McMillen, who has perfected looks for celebrities such as Brie Larson and Kirsten Dunst.
Ms Turini is no stranger to working alongside Queen Bey.
She was the main wardrobe collaborator for the superstar’s Renaissance World Tour in 2023, which has become the singer’s highest-grossing tour to date.
Last year, she styled Beyoncé’s outfit to attended the Los Angeles Philharmonic last year to see Eldorado Ballroom — an outfit which included a ring from Bermudian jewellery store Davidrose Studio.
She worked on Beyoncé's Formation music video and collaborated with Beyoncé's sister, Solange Knowles, on her videos Don’t Touch My Hair and Cranes in the Sky.
In addition, Ms Turini was credited in May for styling award-winning actress Nicole Kidman for the cover interview of that month’s addition of Allure magazine.
The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 14.
