An arts-based education programme once again received top honours from the international organisation Kindermusik.

Bermuda Kids has been named a top programme by Kindermusik International, the world’s leading provider of music-based education for infants, toddlers and young children.

It was the fourth time the early childhood music and movement school has received the award in its five years of operation.

The Kindermusik Top Programme award recognises excellence in spreading the lasting developmental benefits of music and movement through the international organisation’s “a cappella” studio curricula.

Alexandra Lima, a Kindermusik accredited educator and the owner of Bermuda Kids, said: “We feel so honoured and privileged to be a part of this esteemed award and recognise all of the families who have helped us achieve this goal.

“Much of our success has been because of the support and dedication of the Bermuda community.”

Bermuda Kids partnered with schools and childcare centres to help with their mission to spread the joy of music over the past year.

Ms Lima said: “One of our goals was to expand into educational settings, with innovative early music education programming.

“We plan to continue this growth and aim to bring the Kindermusik curriculum to other areas of our community.

“We are excited to welcome new and returning families to our weekly classes starting this month and look forward to another fun, brain-boosting musical journey in 2025-26.”

Kelly Green, the president of Kindermusik International, said the organisation’s mission is to reach every child with the power of joyful music-making.

She said: “To be recognised as a top programme means these accredited educators are not only delivering high-quality, research-backed musical learning, but they are also tremendous brand ambassadors — bringing Kindermusik to life for families, community organisations and schools in their communities.”

Bermuda Kids joins a select group of early childhood music programmes offering Kindermusik classes around the world.

Two top programme tiers, which begin with the highest performing rank, are offered — Conductor’s Circle and Mezzanine Level.

For the past three years, Bermuda Kids has been honoured in the Mezzanine Level, ranked from No 127 to No 78 and then No 64.

This year, they have moved up to the Conductor's Circle, ranking No 42 in the world and No 9 outside the United States.
